Financial matters
Eligible Scottish students and non-UK EU students, studying full-time at an institution in Scotland, are entitled to free tuition.
From 2006-07 higher tuition fees will be charged for new English, Welsh and Northern Irish students studying at a Scottish university.
The annual fee covers matriculation, tuition, the use of laboratories, the use of recreational and other facilities and one entry to the degree examinations appropriate to the course.
Fees for entry in 2007 have not yet been set but will not be less than the fees for 2006-07 which are given opposite. Current information about tuition fees, including fee levels and methods of payment for part-time and self-financing students, can be obtained from the Registry at the University.

You will receive support for living costs through loans which will be partly means-tested, or in the case of some British students, support from bursaries. Most Scottish and EU graduates will be liable to pay a graduate endowment to fund future student support.
Special arrangements for support apply to teacher training students and students on medical, dental and nursing courses. Full details of these arrangements will be available from the SAAS or LEA or NIELB.
