Sport and Recreation Service
The Sport and Recreation Service (SRS) offers access to state-of-the-art facilities at two conveniently located sites within Glasgow. The Stevenson Building (Gilmorehill) comprises a 25m swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms, muscle conditioning suite, cardiovascular suite, exercise conditioning suite, activity hall, exercise studio and two squash courts. The facilities at Garscube Sports Complex (West of Scotland Science Park, Maryhill Road) include all weather synthetic pitches, grass football and rugby pitches, an exercise studio, exercise conditioning suite, cricket oval and three tennis courts.
Sports scholarships programme
The University operates an athletic scholarship and golf bursary programme for talented athletes studying at the institution. The aim of these programmes is to support athletes in their continued academic and athletic development.
The athletic scholarship programme is operated in conjunction with Glasgow City Council and offers bursaries to talented student athletes across a range of sports.
Glasgow University Sports Association
Glasgow University Sports Association is an independent student body whose role is to represent the views of all students in sport. The University is renowned for its sporting prowess and sport is an important aspect of university life. With access to some 50 sports clubs ranging from aikido to windsurfing, all of which welcome new members of any ability, this is your chance to get involved.
