The map below shows:
- Accommodation (A): We have block booked a number of student rooms in Queen Margaret Residence, the newest addition to the University of Glasgow's accommodation portfolio. It is approximately 1.25 miles from the ESSIR 2007 venue via the Botanic Gardens or along Great Western Road. Walking time to the summer school venue is less than 20 minutes.
- Accommodation (B): We have also block booked some additional rooms in Cairncross House, one of the University's student residences. It is ideally situated for Glasgow city centre and the West End (the University and ESSIR venue). Walking time to the summer school venue is less than 20 minutes.
- Accommodation (C): We have reserved a number of rooms at the Ambassador Hotel, which is ideally situated in the Glasgow West End. Walking time to the summer school venue is less than 15 minutes.
- ESSIR 2007 Venue (D): Lectures will be held in the Western Infirmary Lecture Theatre (WILT) in the University of Glasgow. The WILT venue is a self-contained complex, just at a 1-minute walking distance from the Computing Science Department, and a few minutes away from a variety of cafés, pubs, bistros and restaurants. The WILT is building B9 on maps of the campus. It is most easily accessed via University Place, off Byres Road just south of University Avenue.
- Hetherington Research Club (E): There will be a welcome event at the University's Research Club following the registration on Sunday 26th August with drinks and snacks. The Research Club is building D6 on maps of the campus.
