Registration
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. The ESSIR 2007 summer school has reached its maximum attendance capacity. If you have any questions regarding the registration process, please check out the FAQs web page or contact us at essir2007-organisers (AT) dcs.gla.ac.uk
Applicants are expected to fill in the text fields and tick the relevant checkboxes in the PDF registration form before printing.
Registration Fees
The registration fees include a copy of the proceedings, coffee/tea breaks, Lunches, stationary, pens and various goodies, various Glasgow city information (e.g. map), and access to all ESSIR 2007 social events. Early registration rate applies until 15 June 2007.

How to Register
Please follow the steps below:

PDF; 160 KB) - Fill the form on computer, then print it.
- Fax it to: (+44) 141-330-4439
(or mail to: May Gallagher, Dept. of Computing Science, University of Glasgow, 17 Lilybank Gardens, Glasgow G12 8QQ, Scotland, United Kingdom) - E-mail us at essir2007-organisers (AT) dcs.gla.ac.uk once you have successfully sent the registration form.
Update on 27th June 2007: The Queen Margaret Hall Residence is now full. We can no longer accept booking for this residence. From now on, new delegates need to make their own accommodation arrangements. There are several hotels and B&Bs close to the summer school venue. In such case delegates should contact the hotel directly.
A confirmation email will be sent after receiving your fax/mail. You will get a receipt of your payment when registering at the summer school in Glasgow.

Financial Support for Students [Closed]
Currently, three sources of funding are available for students. A significant number of student bursaries for ESSIR 2007 are offered by:
- MMKM: A number of student bursaries sponsored by MMKM are available to UK-based students — See the MMKM application detail for more information.
- CEPIS: A number of student bursaries sponsored by CEPIS are available to European students — See the CEPIS application detail for more information.
- Yahoo! Research: A number of student bursaries sponsored by Yahoo! Research are available to all students — See the Yahoo! Research application detail for more information.
Financial Support for BCS IRSG Members [Closed]
There are a number of bursaries sponsored by BCS-IRSG available to any member of BCS-IRSG; See the BSC IRSG application detail for more information.
Register to become an BCS-IRSG member for free. Visit the BCS-IRSG membership enquiry page, if you are a BCS-IRSG member and would like to retrieve your membership number.
Accommodation
A significant number of rooms have been pre-booked for the ESSIR 2007 delegates at the Queen Margaret Hall from 26th August to 1st September 2007, inclusive. This offers first class en-suite accommodation. Split into self-contained flats, each flat contains five bedsits. Each bedsit has its own WC & shower and access to a kitchen/dining area within the flat. Each bedroom is fitted with a separate data and telephone point. Moreover, an Internet broadband connection is available in each bedsit. Common facilities on site include a lounge area, free laundry facilities, a security office, and free off-street parking.

Rooms at Queen Margaret Halls are at a cost of £27 per person per night for ESSIR 2007 attendees.
Since we have fully booked all available space at the QM Hall, we have extended our range of residences. Indeed, We have also booked an additional number of rooms in Cairncross House, one of the University's student residences. It is ideally situated for Glasgow city centre and the West End (the University and ESSIR venue). [Cairncross House is now FULL]
Rooms at Cairncross House are at a cost of £15 per person per night for ESSIR 2007 attendees.
Finally, there are several hotels and B&Bs for attendees who prefer to arrange their own accommodation. In such case delegates should contact the hotel directly. Note that all the listed accommodation are withing walking distance to the summer school venue.

Important—Please note the following:
- We DO NOT issue letters of invitation for employees of commercial organisations from countries that require a visa to the United Kingdom. If in doubt, please contact us before registering.
- We can ONLY issue invitation letters when a delegate is duly registered to the ESSIR 2007 summer school, i.e. a registration form has been faxed, and the related registration/accomodation fees have been fully paid and received by our accounts office.
- We require every delegate to use an institutional e-mail address. It is not permitted to register using an e-mail address from any freely available provider (such as Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL or Gmail). Please use an alternative to freely available email accounts, as your registrations will be ignored otherwise.
