Paraglide is a research project involving the Computing Science Department and the Department of Anaesthesia of the University of Glasgow, funded under EPSRC's Healthcare Informatics Initiative.

Grant GR/M53059

Dates: August 1999 to October 2001

Aims

The Paraglide Project is investigating the use of mobile palmtop computers to support anaesthetists in the capture of pre- and post-operative data for decision support and clinical audit. Current computerised support for these tasks suffers from several important problems, including inadequate data models, clumsy user interfaces and poor integration with other clinical computer systems. We are developing and evaluating a mobile, context-sensitive palm workstation which addresses these problems.
