In response to new requirements, we developed a browser which shows genetic data in overview and detail. An experiment involving biomedical researchers compared the new browser, VisGenome, and Ensembl. The study consisted of three search tasks and a questionnaire. It showed that neither of the visualisations is perfect. However, the subjects were more successful in VisGenome, and they liked the mouse manipulation offering improved navigation through biological data.
</RECORD></RECORDS></XML>
