Computing Science Research in Glasgow

Rated as one of the top 10 departments for research in the United Kingdom by the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, the Department is also recognised internationally for its research, organised around 7 major groups.

With a compliment of 30 academic staff, 70 research students and 37 research assistants and fellows, the Department hosts 24 EPSRC-funded research projects, 6 EC-funded projects, 7 industrially funded projects, and several research fellowships. Grants and fellowships currently total more than £6M.

The vibrant research culture of the Department strongly encourages cross- disciplinary collaboration with each research group running its own seminar series as well as contributing to the weekly departmental forum.
