Overview
The Networked Systems Research Group studies intelligent and resilient networked systems; how to improve network transport protocols; and how to build mobile, ad-hoc, and sensor networks. Our specific research areas are:
- Cloud networking; network and service management; software-defined networking; network function virtualisation for resource-constrained environments; resilience and security
- Multimedia transport; WebRTC; congestion control and adaptation; network path transparency and measurements; compact routing; better protocol standards
We are grateful for support from EPSRC, NSF, Cisco, Ericsson, and others.

PhD Studentships
PhD positions are available for students with excellent Computer Science qualifications, a high level of motivation, and related research interests. A typical applicant will have a first or upper-second class Honours degree in Computer Science, or equivalent qualification. Interested students should contact a member of the group's academic staff before January of the year in which they wish to start.
