Posters

Poster Competition

Posters by participants were displayed at SSMS 2007. The posters encouraged stimulating discussions on approaches to multimedia semantics, analysis and retrieval.

The participants were eligible to vote for their favourites in the Student Poster Competition. These votes were used to produce a shortlist of nominees for the prize. From the 12 shortlisted posters, a panel of judges selected the winner and three honourable mentions. The judges were Alex Hauptmann, Carnegie Mellon University, USA, Thierry Declerck, DFKI, Germany and John Patterson, University of Glasgow, UK. The prize, an IPod nano sponsored by Yahoo! Research Barcelona, and certificates were handed over by Keith van Rijsbergen, University of Glasgow.
