Where do I get the registration form from?
We have emailed the registration form out to all applicants. If you haven't received one, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
Where do I send the registration form to?
The registration form should be faxed to:

In any case, please also email ssms07@dcs.gla.ac.uk after sending the registration form. We will confirm your registration once we have received your payment.
How do I pay the registration fees?
The fees can be payed by:
- Cheque
- Bank Transfer
- Credit Card (incurrs a £5 surcharge).

The deadline for sending your registration form and payment is
20th of May 2007
How much are the registration fees?
The registration fees are £250 for everyone. If you are a full-time student, these fees include accommodation in the University residence. If not (part-time student, post-docs, from industry, etc.) you have the choice of either booking the University accommodation through us for £100 (for 6 nights from Sunday, 15th of July until Saturday, 21st of July) or book your own accommodation.
I have received the MMKM/BSC-IRSG grant. Do I need to pay the registration fees?
Yes, you will have to send us the registration form and pay the registration fees upfront. You will be reimbursed once you arrive at Glasgow.
What is included in my registration fees?
The registration fees include catering Monday-Friday (breakfast, tea/coffee breaks, lunches, light dinners), banquet dinner on Wednesday, stationary and proceedings.
For full-time students, the fees also include accommodation in Cairncross House, (see Venue),
Is Accommodation included in my registration?
Only if you are a full-time student. Otherwise you have the option of booking a room in the University residence through us for £100 (for 6 nights from Sunday, 15th of July until Saturday, 21st of July) or book your own accommodation. University accommodation is only available in the above arrangement and must be prepaid. Refunds are not possible if the accommodation is not used, or only partially used. Rooms cannot be quaranteed and allocation is on a first-come first-served basis.

When is check-in and check-out?
The rooms will be available for for occupation on the date of arrival from 14:00hrs and shall be vacated by 10:00hrs on the date of departure.
Can I book extra rooms in the University residences?
Please contact us if you require extra rooms (for family etc) for the duration of SSMS. If you require extra nights (if you arrive earlier or stay longer), you should book them directly through the University's Conference & Visitor Services Office by emailing vacationaccom@gla.ac.uk or phoning +44(0)141 330 4116. The University hall booked for SSMS is Cairncross House. Just mention that you’re booking extra nights for SSMS. Extra rooms cannot be guaranteed and allocation is on a first-come first-served basis!
Can I buy extra tickets for the Banquet?
Probably. We will post information on that later.
Can I participate in the Workshop "Research Challenges in Multimedia Retrieval" taking place on Friday 20 June 2007?
There will be a joint panel discussion where participants from SSMS can take part. Otherwise the workshop is not intended for SSMS participants.
