Spacebook: a demonstration of SKUA technology

Spacebook is an implementation of social website technology: a means whereby astronomers can bookmark and annotate objects of interest (queries, workflows, papers etc). By storing this information as SKUA-enabled triple stores, astronomers can then federate their collections of annotations to those of other astronomers and to other collections (such as the VO registry) so that searches can be made seamlessly across many collections of connected information.

Spacebook is built as an extension of the myExperiment codebase. myExperiment is a UK JISC-funded Virtual Research Environment (VRE).

Our talk will provide a demonstration of Spacebook in action and will discuss the issues involved in both the code development and in implementing this approach to knowledge federation.
