Welcome to the Polytechnic Chess Club!

We meet at Wellington Church Hall, at the corner of University Avenue and Southpark Avenue, in Glasgow’s west end (map). The entrance is at 77 Southpark Avenue.

Meetings take place on Thursdays from 19:15 to 22:15, throughout the chess season (late September to late April, except for a break over Christmas and New Year).

We run several teams in the Glasgow Chess League and the Dumbarton & District Chess League, so most players will be able to find a team to suit their level. We also compete in the Richardson Cup (Scotland’s premier team competition).

Members are entitled to compete in the Polytechnic Championship (free of charge).

As always, we extend a warm welcome to new members. Our activities cater for chess players of all skill levels from novice to grandmaster. If you are interested in joining, contact our Secretary Dairena Gaffney, or just come along to any club meeting. See also our About Us page.
