DragThing 2

by James Thomson

DragThing is an application dock designed to tidy up the icons littering your desktop. Simply drag an application from the Finder onto an empty square in a dock and then drag documents onto it as normal. Double-click a docked application to launch it or bring it to the front.

In addition, the docks can contain files, folders, disks, servers and URLs, and there is also an option to display the currently running processes in a special dock.

DragThing 2.1

The current version of DragThing is 2.1 which was released on the 1st of December 1997.

2.1 adds full support for MacOS 8 contextual menus, including popup folder contents and recently used documents for applications, and lots more.

What's New in DragThing 2.1?

Download the DragThing 2.1 Installer from ZDNet (about 1MB).

DragThing should also be available from any Info-Mac mirror site in the gui directory, such as Apple or AOL.

A French version, DragThing F1-2.1, is also available, translated by Philippe Bonnaure.

How To Register

DragThing 2.1 is shareware. You can register your copy via Kagi, who are a company that process shareware registrations on behalf of authors like myself.

You can either register online using your credit card, or via email, fax or post by using the 'Register' application included with the DragThing 2.1 Installer.

Register DragThing 2.1 online at Kagi.

Once Kagi have processed your order, they will normally send you back a serial number within a few days. If you don't hear anything back from them, it's worth checking to see if they got the order in the first place, or if they have the wrong address for you.
