As Business Development Manager, my focus is to increase the impact of the School's work by engaging with prospective users of our research - locally, nationally, and internationally - to generate collaborative projects and enable meaningful knowledge exchange. I forge links with companies, public sector and 3rd sector organisations; identifying technical challenges, need for innovative solutions from our world-class researchers, or opportunities for creative use of their digital resources.

Working with Informatics Ventures, the university's Commercialisation Team, and Student Enterprise, I support entrepreneurship amongst the School's students and staff.

My business development career was originally fostered in a social enterprise environment before moving into academia, then commercialisation as Proof of Concept Programme Manager at Scottish Enterprise. As such, my professional motivations lie in making interesting and worthwhile things happen: to bring people and opportunities together.
