Methods for the design of interactive systems are the legitimate concern of software engineering. Techniques for implementation of interactive systems (algorithms, data models, system models) are the legitimate concern of computer graphics, uist, multimedia, etc. Therefore, there is no need or place for HCI in the computing science undergraduate curriculum.
