PharmGKB

A presentation was given by Diane Oliver on the development of a pharmacogenetics knowledge base known as PharmGKB [15]. Pharmacogenetics data describes how genes affect an individual response to a particular treatment. The data originates from a number of sources, including: LocusLink, OrangeBook and MeSH. There are two implementations of PharmGKB: a database representation with data stored in indexed tables in Oracle; a knowledge base developed in Protégé (see Tools for Building Ontologies).
