2, Maths Tutor

This is your opportunity! Remember all that maths you sweated over for GMM3. Remember that *boring* revision session? This is your chance to change all that, not for yourselves, alas, but for all who will follow you.

This project is about putting that whole maths revision stuff on the web. Not boring old lecture notes but 'documents' which come to life and guide you through the algebraic manipulations. The project will require an algebra animation engine to do the business and the rest is largely up to your imagination. The syllabus of the revision session needs to be covered. I suspect that it will be too hard to do both linear algebra and trigonometry but one of these would certainly be a big start.

A substantial part of this will need to be a means for drilling and testing users. This is the bit that needs most thought. People need to want to use the system. How are you going to present it? Like 'who wants to be a millionaire' or 'the weakest link'? Some degree of competition could help to elevate what is something people are reluctant to spend spare time on to something which gets them wanting to play. Maths is always the hardest topic to bundle in this way but the idea of this project is to invite some lateral thinking. Maybe you'll do something quite different to what we imagine and maybe it'll be a wholly better way of doing it. However, that will need proving, so how would you do that? Its not enough to be more fun, it needs to encourage retention.

Like I said, now's your chance.

Resources: standard equipment but also web authoring software (Deamweaver).
