Practical Information

Location and travel information

The event will be held in Sir Alwyn Williams Building, on the University of Glasgow's Gilmorehill Campus. This building is marked as D20 on the campus map. The venue address is:
18 Lilybank Gardens
Glasgow
G12 8RZ

Please note that this is a different building from when the event was held at the University of Glasgow in 2015 and 2016 (the building we used then has since been demolished!). We will be in Room 422/423 on Level 4. The room will be signed from the entrance to the building, and there is lift access to Level 4. Please advise us of any special access requirements when registering.

General information is available on travelling to Glasgow and to the campus. From Glasgow's main rail terminals (Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street) the quickest way to reach the venue by public transport is to take the Subway to Hillhead station, which is around 5 minutes' walk from the venue.

Food

A light lunch as well as morning and afternoon tea and coffee will be provided for participants on both days of the meeting; please indicate any special dietary requirements when registering.

On Thursday evening, we will organise a group meal at a local restaurant; with the exception of invited speakers, attendees will have to cover their own expenses. Please indicate when registering if you are interested in joining us for this meal, and you will be sent more details about arrangements.

Accommodation

It is envisaged that many participants will be able to attend as a day trip. However, for those coming from further afield, there is a wide range of accommodation available nearby. The following hotels are all within walking distance of the venue:
