User Interface Construction in Java
The HCI course introduces the design, implementation and evaluation of interactive systems. This section of the course discusses the implementation side. In particular, it discusses user interface programming in Java, using JFC/Swing.
Course aims
- Introduce User Interface programming in Java
- Summarise differences between AWT and JFC/Swing
- Provide overview of capabilitites of JFC/Swing
- Cover in detail some of the important features of JFC/Swing

The IT HCI exam requires you to choose 3 questions from a choice of 4. Two of the questions will be from Stephen's part of the course, and 2 are from mine. Here are the notes from the lecture about a sample exam question from my part of the course.
