Current projects

Principal investigator of Explicator: Intelligent access to foreign data models. EPSRC Project, 2007-2009. The project extends Terrier and its corresponding tools with semantic web tools and techniques. For further information about the project, please consult the Explicator Web site.

Principal investigator of Techhound: Vertical search engine for IT professionals. Industrial Project (VNU Business Media), 2006- Open Ended. The project is built on the Terrier platform project and its crawler Labrador. Techhound's long term aim is to deliver focused content for the IT community to complement the search results of generic engines.

Principal investigator of SIMAP: Simulation modelling of the MAP kinase pathway. EC project 2006-2009. The project extends Terrier with data mining and retrieval techniques for large-scale biomedical texts. For further information about the project, please consult SIMAP Web site.

Principal investigator of the Terrier platform project. Research Project, 2001- Open Ended. Terrier is a state-of-the-art modular platform for the rapid development of all sort of text Information Retrieval techniques and applications, with a focus on distributed and large-scale IR.
