The UK Memory Management Network intends to hold a general workshop at the University of Glasgow Department of Computing Science on Thursday 14th July 2005. This follows on from our first general workshop, also held at the University of Glasgow in June 2002, workshops on Analytical Techniques for Memory Management at the University of Kent at Canterbury in May 2003 and on Memory Management for Handheld Devices at University College London in December 2003, the fourth general workshop held at the University of Cambridge in April 2004, and the MM-Net summerschool held at the University of Kent at Canterbury in July 2004.
The UK Memory Management Network (mm-net) is a collaboration between UK industrialists and academics to further research and development of advanced memory management systems.
We define memory management broadly to include topics such as:
Topics of interest for this workshop include but are not limited to any aspect of the above topics, including, for example:
Participation is welcomed from both academic and industrial sources.
As with previous workshops, the day will include a mixture of presentations and time for discussion about ongoing work and future research directions. Sessions will run from 10:00 until 17:00, with coffee etc available from 09:15
Registration is free, and may be carried out using the registration form. Potential new members of the network are encouraged to contact the network coordinator, Richard Jones: r.e.jones@kent.ac.uk (see the mm-net website for more details).
Talk slots will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. If you would like to give a talk please indicate this when registering for the workshop, providing a draft title and abstract and indicating whether you prefer a short (15 min) or normal (30 min) slot.
Lunch and coffee breaks will be provided courtesy of the University of Glasgow Department of Computing Science PI Fund and 2005 Research Festival. General information about the department and University is available on-line, as is information about travelling to Glasgow and reaching the department. If you need further information about any aspect of the workshop please email Peter Dickman: pd@dcs.gla.ac.uk
We will collect presentations from the workshop online to form an informal post-proceedings.

12th July 2005: late registration deadline (assuming that space is available)
14th July 2005: workshop
MM-net was founded with generous sponsorship by the UK's Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). It is now a self-supporting network of academics and industrialists (primarily but not exclusively UK based) with a shared interest in all aspects of Memory Management and related problems. Potential new members are encouraged to contact the network coordinator, Richard Jones: r.e.jones@kent.ac.uk
