Introduction

Over the course of the last 20 years, Ethernet has become the dominant LAN (local area network) technology used throughout the world. As the computerised workplace has become more network based, with the rise in E-mail and the Internet, Ethernet has become even more prevalent. Almost all companies nowadays use Ethernet to connect their computers to each other, and indeed, if you are at work, you are probably reading this website on a computer connected to the Internet through an Ethernet Network.

This website covers the basic operational aspect of Ethernet, as well as the its history and possible future.
