The workshop will take place in the Senate
Room at the University of
Glasgow.
Travel & Maps
Information on travelling to the university can be found here. A map of the campus, showing the location of the Senate Room, is here. A map of the campus and the surrounding area, showing the approximate locations of the hotels and the restaurant where the dinner will take place, is here.
Accommodation
The following hotels are recommended; they are all within a reasonable
walking distance of the university. In each case there is a link
to information provided through the university web site, and a
link to the hotel's own web site. The prices shown are for a
single room, per night, including breakfast. Twin rooms and family
rooms are available if required.
UK Network Members: If you will be claiming for your
accommodation from the EPSRC Network, please use the following
list so that we keep within budget.
These hotels can be booked through the university conference
office. Please contact Lisa Hossack by email (l.hossack at
admin.gla.ac.uk) or telephone (+44 141 330 5385). Use "QNET
2006" as a reference if necessary. A few other
hotels can also be booked through the university, but they are not
as conveniently located. Of course, you can find your own hotel
in the usual ways.
Payment for hotels is separate from payment of registration fees.
Workshop Dinner
There will be a workshop dinner at 19.00 on Monday 4th December, at
Gong Restaurant, 17 Vinicombe Street. Map.
Weather (temperature now:
)
Glasgow's weather is extremely variable. In December we could have
sun, rain, snow, wind, fog etc., possibly all in the same day. It
is likely to be fairly cold: freezing temperatures during the day
would not be unusual.
More positively, it is also very possible to have clear, bright and
sunny (although cold) days in December. But be prepared: bring a
raincoat and/or an umbrella.
