Binary Converter

Instructions for using this exercise

  1. The first text area to appear contains the number to be converted to binary form.
  2. The "Workings only" table is intended for any rough workings and calculations you may need. This table will not be used during checking of answers. Look on it as on screen scratch paper.
  3. Put your solution to the problem in the second table, labelled as "Enter here".
  4. Enter a '0' or a '1' in every cell to create the solution.
  5. Note that any input except a '0' or a '1' will be rejected.
  6. If any cells are left blank, a warning message will appear. Please complete all empty cells.
  7. Ensure that before pressing submit, no cells in this table are highlighted / selected. The program will not recognise input as complete until the focus has moved away from the cell. If a cell is still selected, a warning message will appear.
  8. When you press the Hint button, the hint will appear in the first row of the third table.
  9. When you press the Reveal button, the correct solution will appear in the third table.
  10. When you press Submit, the correct solution will appear in the third table.
  11. Press Next Number to proceed to the next problem, or Reset to try the same number again.
