My name is Valentin, I’m currently a PhD student at the University of Glasgow within the Inference, Dynamics and Interaction group. I work under supervision of Roderick Murray-Smith and Sebastien Stein (and formerly Bjørn Sand Jensen).

How did I get here?

Prior to being a PhD candidate at Glasgow, I did my Masters at Télécom Paris where I specialized in Machine Learning and Applied Maths.

My Research Interests

My interests lie around intersections between Machine Learning and Control Theory. My works specifically focuses on Model-Based Reinforcement Learning and how to use probabilistic models to do so. In such settings, Bayesian models can help learning robust controllers as they provide sound uncertainty measures about the environments dynamics.
