• Sans-serif clean and simple:
  - good for heading, sections etc;
  - stands out in discrete units;
  - can seem a little patronising.
  
  
• Serif more elaborate:
  - good for continuous text;
  - helps the eye follow the line;
  - has an `official' feel to it.
