BETTY PhD Awards

Two BETTY members have won awards for their recent PhD dissertations.

Dr Ornela Dardha (University of Glasgow) won the Italian EATCS prize for the best PhD dissertation of 2014, awarded by the Italian chapter of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science. Her thesis, "Type Systems for Distributed Programs: Components and Sessions", was completed at the University of Bologna, supervised by Davide Sangiorgi.

Dr Fabrizio Montesi (University of Southern Denmark) won the EAPLS prize for the best PhD dissertation of 2014, awarded by the European Association for Programming Languages and Systems. His thesis, "Choreographic Programming", was completed at the IT University of Copenhagen, supervised by Marco Carbone.
