About me

Stefan Raue is currently pursuing his PhD in Computing Science at the University of Glasgow. Working on a collaborative project with Strathclyde Police and Scottish Government he is conducting research into established emergency management activities to which the implementation of social media applications could prove beneficial. Of special interest for this research is the effective and efficient filtering and gathering of social media intelligence during large-scale public events or incidents.

Previously, Stefan worked with DCLG (Department for Communities and Local Government) and various emergency services developing novel techniques to support local risk assessment and resource allocation. This research included cost-modelling for public services, the creation of novel, high-quality datasets and the development of working prototypes to support decision making processes.
