Call for Participation

 [MMNet 11]

The UK Memory Management Network provides researchers from academia and industry with a unique opportunity to meet, to discuss challenges, state-of-the-art techniques and solutions, and to exchange ideas and experiences. MMNet 11 takes place in Glasgow on Friday 13th May 2011. We call for contributions in any aspect of memory management including

  • virtual machine implementation
  • garbage collection algorithms
  • performance tuning techniques
  • empirical studies of dynamic behaviour
  • abstractions and models for memory management
  • runtime support for multi-core

Please register for MMNet 11, indicating whether you wish to give a presentation. Note that since this is an informal workshop, an MMNet presentation will not prevent publication elsewhere. Event registration is free, thanks to generous sponsorship from SICSA.

Relevant topics include:

Important Dates

  • Fri 6 May - please register before this date. Registration is free, but we need to know numbers for catering arrangements.

Venue and Travel Directions

The MMNet 11 meeting is taking place in Room 422, Level 4, of the School of Computing Science, at the University of Glasgow. The School's address is: Sir Alwyn Williams Building, 18 Lilybank Gardens, Glasgow, G12 8RZ.

See here for general travel information. If you are travelling by train, the best way to get from Glasgow Central or Queen Street mainline stations is to catch the Subway to Hillhead. It is a 5 minute walk [google map] from Hillhead to the School of Computing Science. If you are travelling by car, there is a pay-and-display car park on Lilybank Gardens, close to the School.

Schedule

We expect the MMNet 11 meeting will commence around 1100 on Fri 13 May, and finish by 1730. We will post the official meeting schedule up here once it is finalized. All talks will be 30 minutes, including time for questions. Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
